Johor's affordable-home push now has a sharper number for buyers to watch: 25,791 Rumah Mampu Milik Johor units have been completed from 2022 to the third quarter of 2026, with prices stated at RM42,000 to RM300,000, according to RTM.
The state still has a short sprint before the end of this phase. Housing and local government exco Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor said another 4,209 units are targeted for completion in the fourth quarter, which would bring the 2022-2026 total to 30,000 units.
After that comes the harder part. Johor plans to add 70,000 more RMMJ units by 2030, taking the long-range target to 100,000 homes. That matters because Johor's property conversation is increasingly pulled by jobs, the RTS Link and JS-SEZ investment, while ordinary buyers still need a price band that does not move like private launches.
The state is also planning a youth-focused allocation. Mohd Jafni said 1,000 units are expected to be offered next year to Johoreans below 40, with the details to be announced by Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
For households waiting on the next ballot or application window, the useful figures are not only the 100,000 headline target. The near-term question is whether the remaining 4,209 units can be delivered by year-end, and where the next 70,000 will sit across Johor's districts.
Johor Budget 2027 is expected to set aside about RM300,000,000 for housing assistance and public-housing maintenance, including Bantuan Perumahan Kasih Johor and repairs to public housing. That is the line owners in older schemes should watch, because a finished unit is only half the housing story if lifts, paintwork and shared facilities are left behind.
