HE Group Bhd has added a RM124,000,000 Johor data-centre job to its order book after its wholly owned Hexatech Engineering Sdn Bhd accepted a subcontract for main electrical works.
The company told Bursa Malaysia that the award came from an unnamed Malaysian-incorporated, foreign-owned engineering, procurement and construction management company, according to reports by The Edge Malaysia and The Star. The scope covers supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the main electrical works for a data centre in Johor.
The subcontract was accepted on 23 September 2026 and runs until 27 March 2028, based on the details reported from the filing. For property readers, the important point is less the contractor's share price and more the pipeline it points to: data-centre construction in Johor is still translating into packages for Malaysian engineering firms, not just land sales and headline investment pledges.
It is HE Group's second reported award in September. The Edge said the group had secured a RM25,000,000 purchase order on 10 September for power-distribution works for a manufacturer of NAND flash memory products in Malaysia.
The award does not identify the data-centre operator or the site, so there is not enough public information to connect it to a specific industrial park or land deal. What can be said safely is that the works sit in the same broad industrial build-out that has made Johor one of Malaysia's most closely watched data-centre markets.
