Coalfields Retail Park eyes five million visitors after 390,000 opening week

If you live around Bandar Seri Coalfields, the new retail park is now the thing to watch, because KLK Land is trying to turn it from a township amenity into a Greater North Klang Valley draw.

Coalfields Retail Park recorded more than 390,000 visitors during its soft-opening week from 10 to 16 September 2026, according to reports citing KLK Land. The developer is targeting five million visitors a year and full occupancy by the first quarter of 2027.

The scale is not small. KLK Land's own project page lists the retail park at 21 acres, with about 1,000,000 sq ft of gross built-up area, a seven-acre lake park and 135 retail lots. The retail park serves Bandar Seri Coalfields, the 1,000-acre township in the Sungai Buloh growth corridor.

BusinessToday reported that incoming tenants before the first quarter of 2027 include Harborland, Serai Ikan Bakar, Circadian, Toys"R"Us, Mr DIY, Babyshop and Anytime Fitness. The same report said KLK Land is also widening access roads along Federal Route 54 towards Sungai Buloh and improving pedestrian connectivity within the township.

For residents, the immediate question is whether the traffic and access improvements keep pace with the crowds. For buyers looking at the surrounding township, the signal is simpler: daily-needs retail, family leisure and food-and-beverage space are becoming part of the area's value proposition, not an afterthought.

  • Residents get a larger everyday retail base closer to home.
  • Commercial agents will be watching whether the five-million-visitor target holds after the opening rush.
  • Future shoplot phases near the retail park will matter because they extend the town centre effect beyond the mall itself.
